Combined road machine (CRM)
Winter period of time can be very severe and long. In the majority of cities and other villages, winter precipitation, falling in the form of snow, forms a stable snow cover and icy roads. These formations on the road surface create difficulties for automobile traffic, such as an increase in the length of the braking distance and skidding of vehicles due to a decrease in the coefficient of adhesion of tires to the road. In order to reduce such difficulties, measures are taken to ensure normal traffic on the roads in winter. The roadway is cleared of snow, after which a salt solution, reagents are scattered on the surface of the roadway, or materials that increase the coefficient of adhesion of tires to the road. For this, municipal services use combined road vehicles (CRM). CRM is a truck, on the frame or body of which seasonal equipment is installed to perform seasonal tasks – for watering, for scattering, etc. One of the KDM equipment is a sand spreader, which includes: a bunker, a grate, a frame, supports, a chain conveyor, a spreader bunker, an RPG-5000 hydraulic motor, and a hydraulic system.
The bunker is an all-metal structure consisting of a support frame with rollers to ensure installation in the body of a vehicle, and an upper grate to prevent large solid pieces of anti-icing materials or other foreign objects from getting into the bunker. At the bottom of the bunker there is a chain conveyor with scrapers, which is driven by an RPG-5000 hydraulic motor.

Through a drive shaft with cast iron sprockets for a round-link chain, the chain moves, with tensioning of the chain provided by a tension shaft with installed springs.

The material is fed by the conveyor scrapers into the spreader hopper, from where the material gets onto the spreading disc. The speed of feeding and spreading the material is regulated by adjusting the hydraulic system.
During operation, the hopper and other working elements of the KDM are damaged due to the aggressive environment of reagents, becoming unsuitable for operation. In light of the above, the task was set to develop drawings of the hopper and all structural elements. After taking measurements of the remaining elements of the hopper structure, a complete set of design documentation was developed – assembly drawings, specifications, detailing, cutting for plasma cutting, cutting for bending, hydraulic system connection diagram and 3D visualization. After that, new sand spreader equipment was manufactured and put into operation.
